Another time..swear this is true...when I was a teenager I stayed at a friends house for the weekend. Her parents were away & her housekeeper was watching us. Of course being teenagers our imaginations ran wild & we heard all kinds of creepy noises in the empty house. Turns out weeks later there was actually a burglar hiding up in the attic & he was responsible for robbing a few houses in the neighborhood & among the stuff he had a fur coat. Now that was very creepy & I guess we were extremely lucky.

Are you being 100% truthful here Lyndsey? Most of it I can believe, but there are tow things that I'm not certain about.

Were you ever really a teenager and if you ever really had friends!

Well, I finally got around to watching it and I LOVED it! Perfectly creepy good psychological thriller. They did a great job of detailing the charisma of the killer. Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy were amazing. Love that a main character got "sent out" in the first episode, did not see that coming.

I agree with ctown that this is more of a mini series type deal, hopefully they do not make it into something else.

As to the violence. I think there was more gore than violence but no more than you can see on any episode of CSI. The violence (other than the lady in the beginning) was more inferred than actually happening before you. It was that apprehension and creep factor that has the viewer matrixing and filling in the details, making it so much creepier. Besides, if you don't like something, switch the flipping channel.

All in all I am liking the show a lot, only one thing bothered me and that was the dog scene. I cannot help it, I am like Mike Weston in the show, cannot stand to see an amimal hurt.

So glad you like it...thats four out of four of us that liked it! Oh I know the dog part was disturbing...I pretty much squinted thru it.

2 episodes in and I find myself sighing and rolling my eyes at times. Their "Twists" are seen a mile away and that lessens the tension they're trying to create.

At this point I will not be surprised at all if Kevin Bacon's character is revealed to be part of the cult.

I'm not so certain Kevin Bacon's charachter will be a follower but you can certainly see that there will be FBI members as followers.

It definitely turned itself down the 2nd episode in and hopefully it can find it's feet and get a happy medium.

The one thing I had to roll my ees at was Jordy, the prison guard. This guy supposedly had the means to hack into the spohisticated prison network and allow Carrol to access any internet site he wants, yet the character is described as a "half-wit"

Also, he helped a known death row serial killer escape, thye know who he is, what he looks like and that he's extremely dangerous. Yet, he's able to get into the sorority house with no problem becaue the girl saw that they captured the bad guy on the news. Don't you think the news would also have the known followers picture plastered all over the place as well stating they are extremely dangerous?

For now I'm just kind of shrugging these things off because I really want to like the show.

Did you see episode 3? Ryan is basically praising how good Caroll is and all of that.. he HAS to be in the cult or this show will suck lol. Very good episode 3.... Next week is the one all critics are talking about... regarding the creepy factor.

There was a purpose to Ryan praising him like that. It was all done to show the back story between the two of them and how Caroll has all this charisma to charm the hell out of people.

I actually think that if they make him one of the followers, the show will lose all credibility and will just be done for the shock factor. I'm sure they're gonna tease the hell out of it though

Rub a dub dub, three cultists in a tub! Ok that part was weird, but it seems this episode was featuring more of the background information than the creepyness that we saw in the first two episodes. If they're going for the background story then I'd like to see more of Carroll & spend some time seeing how he got all these nut cases to follow him & how they all got together...I'm figuring there have to be a lot more out there that we don't know about yet.

Another thing....it seemed to take forever for Mike to come in & rescue Hardy when he was just a few steps behind him when they were outside. I was wondering at first if Mike was in the cult & would let Hardy's sister get the axe, but he came to the rescue so I guess he's legit for now anyway.

The thing that I find really funny with this show is that if you go to some message boards for the show. There is at least one post for every character saying "I bet he/she is a follower, it's so obvious"

I've seen posts for people claiming everyone from Ryan Hardy to Carrol's wife, Claire, to their son. I think the only thing people havent claimed is that the dogs were followers too.

I do agree Lyndsey, last night it seemed like forever for Weston to get in there. Of course that brings out all of the "Weston is a follower" posters, which actually could hold some merit. I thought it last night as well, this guy just knows way too much about Hardy and the first time he busted Carroll, now he shows up to "save the day" Think about it. Ryan was going to see Maggie, she knows where the kid is being held. Weston comes along and "saves" the day by killing Maggie when all he really should have done was wounded her to stop her. This prevents her from giving out the location and Weston justifies the actions to the other cult members by saying he had to because she went "off the book" as she stated. Taking out Ryans sister wasn't part of the plan and that made her a liability.

Excellent point! At this point you can analyze any one of the characters & see things that lead you to conclude they're in the cult....that's what the show is going for I believe & so far they're doing a good job, because I find myself thinking it could be Claire, Weston, the FBI cult specialist or even Hardy's sister. And on the other hand are there any cult members that are actually working undercover for the FBI? I'm suspicious by nature so this show is great for me, lol.

If there are that would have to be carefully written. If any of them are, they would have to prevent any of the homicides. Now you could say that one of the gay guys (Jacob) I think, the one that's never killed anyone could be one, but on the other hand, he was instrumental in getting that first victim killed. He therefore has blood on his hands indirectly so would make for horrible writing if it were him, it would have to be some that actually prevents any of the killings

Not sure if I'll stick around for next season. While I love the premise it gets more ridiculous each week. You could only suspend disbelief so far and accept bad character decisions before you start feeling they are treating viewers like idiots. That whole escape sequence was just ludicrous. I can see why it's a midseason replacemnet instead of getting a full season. Hopefully they will turn up the intelligence factor for the remaining 8 episodes
